KATHMANDU, NEPAL - OCTOBER 1992 - A family clebrates the Tihar Festival also known as the Festival of Lights. Tihar is a time when brothers and sisters pay respect to one another. The women serve an elaborate meal to the men, while the men return the gesture by giving a gift, usually money. On the fifth day, brothers and sisters pray to Yama, the god of death, that long life and prosperity be granted to their family.
